Our Mission
The mission of The Buzzards Bay Anglers Club is to bring together anglers on our local waters. By developing relationships and friendships, The Buzzards Bay Anglers Club will become stronger and more organized. Come and meet other anglers that have the same interests as you. Compare notes and styles. Tie flies. Get a buddy boat for an offshore trip. Find a partner to work the canal with.
Get a group together to fish the "hard water" in January. Attend our monthly seminar series during the winter months to chase away the "Winter Blues" and learn from professionals and experts in their own field. Find out how to drift that secret spot in Quick's Hole. Introduce a young person to a favorite pond in Rochester. We shall strive to make a difference by educating the public and expanding our reach. We will plan local tournaments and social events, educate our young anglers, protect our fisheries and give back to the community. Most importantly we will have fun and get out on the water together.
Benefits of Joining
There are several benefits to becoming a member of The Buzzards Bay Anglers Club. Our members and their families are close friends and we have a great time when we get together. Our club is a casual, friendly organization that is built on a common foundation of fun and fishing. We have discount programs in place with local tackle shops and national organizations. You will also receive a logo hat and sticker with your membership. As a dues paying member, you will also receive discounted entry fees to our tournaments and special events. We hold monthly meetings that will include an experienced speaker that will speak on topics relating to fishing techniques, boating safety, and other pertinent subjects. Even this website will become a place for you to post pictures of your catch, post and read fishing reports and come to learn more about the club and our future events. The club will run on volunteers and hard work by all of its members with opportunities for leadership and planning for the clubs future. The benefits of becoming a member will grow as time passes with many more opportunities to come.
Buzzards Bay Anglers Club Charitable Fund
Through the generous efforts of our members and events, the club has made two donations to it's charitable fund this year. The most recent donation of $2000 makes the fund double what we raised last year!
Membership Application
You can attend a monthly meeting that we have on the second Thursday of the month at 7pm at the The Mattapoisett Chowder House in Mattapoisett, MA (79 Fairhaven Road) . At that point you will get to meet our members, board members and other guests. Please pick up an application at the meeting or print the application on this web site and return it via US mail, fax or in person at the next monthly meeting. Membership dues will be $50 per year for a standard membership which will include all children under 18 and your spouse, $35 for a junior membership under the age of 18. Anyone who submits an application and attends a monthly meeting will be considered for membership.
Tight Lines and thanks for coming aboard,
Dana Nilson President
