January Meeting - 1/14/10

January's guest speaker, Charley Soares, is a noted angler and fishing writer. He is also a sport fishing guide, editor and lecturer. He is also an expert on striped bass fishing. As a writer, Charley has written a number of books that are informative and entertaining. His book, 'Stemming the Tide' for example, takes the reader into the life and times of fishermen living on and along the coast of New England. In the book, he portrays the spirit and culture of times gone by, in a superb fashion, possible only by a person who spent his early childhood as fisherman.

It's the middle of winter and your working on your gear for next season. We've asked Capt. Armand to show us how to make your own spreader bars and daisy chains...in a workshop format. From the basic of how to use crimpers, how to make a leader and to how to set up a bar with squid shells, etc. Capt. Armand will be bringing along some of his materials and lures so that members can purchase what they need to build and assemble your own gear.
