If you hadn't heard the Spring migration of our beloved striped bass has begun. Schools of fast, top water fish in the 25-36 inch range have been moving through during the tide changes. Members have caughted fish in the Weweantic river, the canal, off West Island and on fresh pogies in Megansett just to name a few. It won't be long now before they fill in more regularly. Send us your photos of your first fish of the eyar and we'll post them on our website for all to see.

May 13th - Meeting - Fred Besch
Recent member, Fred Besch, from Rochester will be speaking at our May 13th meeting at the Mattapoisett Chowder House; 7:00 PM. Fred has been fishing in and around Buzzards bay for years and wil be sharing his techniques for us the tube and worm to target multiple species. .how to make...how to present the tubes to the fish....all necessary tackle to enable you to consistantly catch more fish. Tubes will be available, normally sold for $7, that night only, sold as a special for $6.Fred likes to rig and make lures. He'll have birds for tuna-fishing that he will bring with him, normally sold for $25....that night only $20.

May 16th - Sprink Kayak Day - Shell Point, Onset, MA
We'll be at Shell Point in Onset, MA. We're meeting at 6:30 AM. It's a good incoming tide and protected if the wind should blow. There's plenty of room to park and launch if we're there early. Bring whatever lures and/or gear to one of our monthly meetings drop it with a board member to be placed in the trash can derby can for this years winner.
