Fall Tournament Summary
This year's tournament is over and was our most successful tournament to date! Over 40 fisherman & women participated with 19 total fish being weighed-in.
I would like to thank our sponsors listed below; Tournament Chairman Matt Arguin; Board Members George Fearons, Brian Dupras, Jim O'Dowd, Mark Barry, Stephen Madden, Mike Dahill and Mark Barry; the Mattapoisett Chowder House and everyone who registered; for helping make this a great event.
Plans are already in the works for next year including adding more weigh stations and making it easier to register. The time extension was such a big hit that we will look to make this part of next year's event as well.

October 8th Meeting
The guest speaker for October's meeting will be Capt. Norman Hyett.
Captain Norm Hyett has fished New Jersey and Massachusetts coastal waters since he was a young boy. Catching early-morning seabass and flounder began his passion for the sport, and he has since travelled to many other locales to fish for redfish, snook, tarpon, and numerous other species. Fishing Massachusetts waters, and fishing Boston Harbor in particular, gives him the opportunity to pursue his passion for fishing in local waters. A recently retired psychologist and public school counselor, a published fiction and fishing writer, he has gone back to his love for fishing as his daily way of life.
Capt. Norm is a member of the Winthrop Conservation Commission, a member of the Northeast Charterboat Captain's Association and a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He also aids the Department of Marine Fisheries by collecting research data.
